HMC150 First Test Footage HD
zadanet.com This is the first test footage I shot with my new Panasonic AG-HMC150. It’s a 1080p Hi-Def camera that, from what I saw, shoots amazing images. Now it’s hard to compare a video camera to a 35mm film camera but I was surprised by the shallow Depth of Field I was able to achieve. The Dynamic Range on this camera was also pretty impressive looking at how far into the blacks you can see. It also shoots 720p at 60 frames per second so you can achieve true slow motion when you slow it back to 24 fps on playback. I was so glad to see how easy it was to edit with this camera too. It’s entirely solid-state, so it doesn’t record onto tape but rather a tiny SD card. Importing it was super easy in Final Cut. Basically you plug in the camera, Log and Transfer, and just drag the clips you want to your cue and it imports to an Apple prores File in a few seconds. Super simple. Well Enjoy the video! (It doesn’t have a real point by the way, just experimenting)

“My Story” – Canon EOS T1i / 500D / Kiss X3
“My Story” – A short love story clip showing off the new Canon EOS 500D / Rebel T1i (US) / Kiss X3 (Japan) Digital SLR camera. The film focuses on the romance between a man and woman from the point of their marital engagement to their first child from the perspective of a camera. This one actually made me think twice. At first viewing, I thought the “My Story” referred to the people. But really, the story is told from the perspective of the camera and how it has become part of every important event in the lives and romance of the couple. Nicely told, creatively shot.
